La Grande Guerra sul Monte Pasubio/The Great War on the Mount Pasubio

This summer I visited a couple of places in the Great War in Italy and I decided to post some photos on the blog.
In this post public pictures taken on Mount Pasubio (Vicenza), where the Italian and Austro-Hungarian soldiers were faced at high altitudes for long months, even in midwinter.
In particular, the mountain saw heavy fighting between 1916 and 1918.
Particularly vicious and bloody war of mine was among the occupants of the enemy trenches.

    1. 1st World War history focuses a lot on the Western Front and to a lesser degree the Eastern Front and Gallipoli (at least here in Australia). Not a lot is known about the Italian front in the English speaking world, even though British troops were sent there later in the war.

In a terrible war, the troops fighting in these conditions must have endured just impossible conditions!

Thanks for showing us your wonderful photos, Simmy!
