Il blog parlerà di storia, collezionismo, soldatini e wargame, ma non solo.
Vorrei condividere con chi leggerà questo blog le mie esperienze nell'affascinante mondo del wargame, cioè della simulazione storica o più semplicemente dei giochi di guerra con i soldatini.

Fortunatamente sono guerre innocue, combattute lanciando dadi a 6 facce al posto delle pallottole, da pacifici gentiluomini che amano discutere di storia, di giochi, di film e di tecniche modellistiche, ma che mai e poi mai vorrebbero vedere versare una sola goccia di sangue vero.

Il periodo storico che più mi appassiona è quello della cosiddetta polvere nera, in particolare le guerre del ‘700 e dell’800.

Il titolo del Blog non è dovuto ad un improvviso attacco di anglofilia, ma cita le famose parole gridate da Paul Revere, la notte del 18 aprile 1775, per avvertire i “ribelli” americani dell’imminente arrivo delle truppe britanniche a Lexinton e Concord per requisire armi e vettovaglie dei patrioti, dando così inizio alla guerra d’indipendenza.

La scelta è dovuta ad una delle mie passioni: la guerra d’indipendenza americana (AWI) e alla volontà, prima o poi di realizzare uno scenario storico con soldatini in 28 mm, tratto da questa guerra (Bunker Hill).

Il mio maggiore interesse risiede però nell’epoca napoleonica (Napoleonic Age) e nella guerra dei 7 anni (SYW), in qualsiasi scala e con qualsiasi regolamento, purchè di facile lettura e applicazione.

Tra i regolamenti di wargame che preferisco ci sono:

“Corpo d’Armata” dell’Associazione Wargame “Le Grenadier” di Roma (tattico epoca napoleonica);
“Black Powder” (‘700 e ‘800 – SYW, AWI, Napo’);
“Rank and File” (‘700 e ‘800);
“Shako II” (Napo’);
“Volley and Bayonet” (fine ‘600 – primi ‘900).

The blog will talk about history, collectibles, and miniatures wargames, but not only.
I would like to share with readers of this blog my experiences in the fascinating world of wargaming, ie historical simulation or simply war games with toy soldiers.

Fortunately they are harmless wars, fought by throwing 6-sided dice instead of bullets, peaceful gentlemen who love to discuss history, games, film and modeling techniques, but that would never ever see shed a single drop of real blood .

The period of history that most fascinates me is the so-called black powder, in particular the wars of the '700 and '800.

The title of the blog is not due to a sudden bout of Anglophilia, but cites the famous words shouted by Paul Revere on the night of April 18, 1775, to warn the "rebels" Americans of the imminent arrival of British troops in Concord and Lexinton seize weapons and provisions of the patriots, thus beginning the War of Independence.

The choice is due to one of my passions: the American War of Independence (AWI) and will, sooner or later to create a historical scene with soldiers in 28 mm, taken from this war (Bunker Hill).

My primary interest lies, however, the Napoleonic era (Napoleonic Age) and 7 years of war (SYW), at any scale and with any rules, provided they are easy to read and apply.

Among the regulations of my favorite wargames are:

"Army Corps" Wargames Association "The Grenadier" in Rome (tactical Napoleonic era);
"Black Powder" (700 and 800 - SYW, AWI, Napo ');
"Rank and File" (700 and 800);
"Shako II" (Napo ');
"Volley and Bayonet" (late '600 - '900).
